EBBP August: Light at the End of the Tunnel

I lost my job but there was still bike party.

My lover left me for another but there was still bike party.

BART can go on strike but there will still be BIKE PAR-TAAAY!!!

East Bay Bike Party presents LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. We want YOU to be the light … light up those bikes.. light up those bodies…glowsticks, LEDs, spokelights. Lights are safe and fun and look super ultra cool in a dark tunnel, so let’s make this bike party the most lit one yet!

Forget your troubles and hop on your bike. The lights shine for you August 9th.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

-INVITE WISELY: If you’re inviting friends, make sure that they think that safety is sexy & know the Bike Party code.

-PICK UP YOUR TRASH: This one’s simple – if you brought it in or ate/drank it, you pack out the can/wrapper/trash with you.

-VOLUNTEER: Volunteer to take a corner and lead the Bike Party through a turn. Make new friends and help make Bike Party awesome.

-COME PREPARED: This is an unsupported ride, so bring whatever you’d bring if you went on a long solo ride. A patch kit, tools, lights, snacks & layers are a good start.

-KNOW THE CODE: If you come out this Friday, this is what the people around you will expect. And you’ll make more friends if you ride safely. Making friends and meeting new people is what this ride is about, after all:

Like every month, this ride is on the second Friday, meaning August the 9th.

This month we are starting at Fruitvale BART and ending near Lake Merritt BART Station.

As always, meet at @7:30pm, roll at 8pm!

Route sheets (with regroups & directions to BART) will be available at the beginning of the ride
